Wordpress Plugins

People has been asking me, “What plugins I used for displaying the images and digging the article?” Instead of replying everyone individually, I decided to create a page to share with everyone the Wordpress plugins I used.

Paged Comments (MangoOrange version)
I have modified the plugin to separate the pings/trackbacks from the comments. This is a highly demanded feature. As the original author did not have the time to continue to improve the plugin since 2007, I took the initiative to modify it to suit MangoOrange’s famous i2Theme and i3Theme.

Gravatar
A highly sought after feature for the i2Theme and i3Theme. It’s no doubt a cool way to give identity to our beloved loyal reader. Time to get this into the blog if you haven’t have it.

Lightbox
This is the plugin I used on MangoOrange™ to display my images. It’s quite cool. No need to go to another page, just to load the images. You can even group the images as album and browse them in the lightbox.

Sociable
With this plugin, I can allow my readers to bookmark just the article, conveniently by clicking on the icons. Although you see a few bookmarking sites on my blog, there are actually 61 sites supported for this plugins. The reason I only put a few of it, it’s because I didn’t want it to get cluttered on my blog, so I choose those I think it’s popular.

SnapShot
When you mouseover my links, you can actually see a box popup to display a snapshot of the linked website. It’s very useful and fanciful for me, so I feel it will be good for my readers too.

WP-Cache
A good way to save processing power and speed up the loading of your website is to install this plug-ins. This is because only the pages with changes will be recontruct, otherwise it will used the cache information, saving the time for page reconstruction.

Adsense Inline
For those who demands for adsense to be embedded into their blog post in i3theme, here comes the plugins by Phil online. I will be adding mine soon. Please support me at MangoOrange by giving the advertisement a thought.

Secure Contact Form
Always been wondering, how you want to add a contact form so that your reader can contact you without the hassle of firing up their Thunderbird and also, a more secure form that safe from all the spams. Try this out. It works for me. I might be release a CSS soon just for this contact form. ;)

Paged Comments
It’s a good way to keep your comments tidy when you have a tremendous long list of comments. Check it out at the i3Theme and click Show All at the comment section. You will know what I mean.

Wordpress Database Backup
The easiest way to backup your WordPress database without a single knowledge of MySQL. Not only that, what I love the most is this email feature that will send it to my ~5GB Gmail ;) as well as the reminder feature. The combination of it rocks. Now I just leave it on and on weekly basis, they will backup a copy right to my Gmail ;)

Hope you like the list here and start enhancing your Wordpress with these plug-ins. I will be updating this in the future. Be sure to check it out.

No plugin is needed, just use the default wordpress tag cloud widget at the presentation screen and put it on the sidebar.

David: I’m not too sure about that… It’s tedious to look through these plugins. Maybe you should try searching why the footer information is not appearing. Cause, the right-sidebar is directly after the footer information. If you found the solution to the footer, most likely your sidebar will appear. G’d luck mate.
