Email is the most alive and the growing means of advertisement adopted by the small as well as large businesses. All the entrepreneurs as well as the other business that work offline are benefiting from this. There are certain tools and strategies required in order to make your email marketing turn out to be a successful one. The marketers work through email system and send email to a large number of lists telling the about their products and detailing them about their business and product offerings. When you sell your customers something of value and be in touch with them, keep them informed about your latest products and business, a relationship is developed.

There are certain strategies designed for those who market their business online through emails. These strategies are highly practiced ones and used by business in order to generate profit and attract maximum number of customers and accomplish your desired goals. These strategies are as follows.

HIGHLY PRACTICED EMAIL MARKETING STRATEGIES:

1.	Always try to add a personal touch to your emails by customizing them. Every customer should be individually targeted which leaves a very good impact on the customer. The customer should be targeted by mentioning his first name in the email.

2.	While sending the promotional messages, always try to write a heavy, meaningful subject line in order to make the customers have an idea what the business ids about.

3.	The content of the email should be strongly focused and should look appealing to the eye. Many of the emails go unopened due to this problem that the content was either not readable, or not clear. Spams also should be avoided

4.	The email should be designed effectively, fitting the message that has to be given to every customer.

5.	An email having a bad grammar, wrong spellings or any other such mistake is the biggest turn off point and does not leave a good image in the minds of customers. in order to avoid such mistakes, these emails should be checked and reviewed twice or thrice before sending. The links should also be perfect and not broken or half cut.

A marketer who designs the email in such a way to attract customer by giving them wrong information or in existing offers or rewards is bound to lose his customers as well as people do not think twice before unsubscribing to such emails.

Those of you who have read my posts know how much that I like the web hosting providers Bluehost and Hostmonster. I honestly think that these two hosts give users the most bang for their buck and I am always referring friends to these hosts. Many people that I talk to about these hosts seem very interested but are concerned because they have a website with another host and don't want to lose any files.

If you are in the same shoes I think you will be very interested in knowing that switching web hosts is actually very easy thanks to Cpanel. Hostmonster and Bluehost both use CPANEL (most do) and CPANEL has a "backup" option that allows you to backup entire websites, including databases. Use this tool and create your site's backup, sign up for web hosting with Hostmonster or Bluehost, go to backup and click "restore backup"... This will upload all the files from your old host and you will be up and running again, with a better host .

This process is so easy with Cpanel... So there are no reasons to worry about switching hosts...

----- > SIGN UP FOR BLUEHOST
----- > SIGN UP FOR HOSTMONSTER

Buying web hosting and building a website are just the first few steps of starting a successful online business; in fact, many people over look the fact that you need to market your website once you build it. One of the best ways to market your website & increase conversions on your newly built website is add video's to your website. Google has mentioned before that it love's interactive websites that are helpful to those who visit the site and many believe that adding videos to your site can also help increase Google rankings.

To show you what I mean, today we will have a "mini case-study" and we will look at three different guitar websites, two that have videos on their site and one that does not.

First, I want to focus on a website that gives guitar lessons for beginners. This is a good example of using a video to sell a product. Halfway down the website you can see a video that discusses a product that teaches how to be a guitarist. There are many sites that offer products; however, simply adding a video (like this site did) can drastically increase conversions.

An even better example of using a video on a website would be this site that I found about blues guitar lessons . This website has a very clean website design with a nice video on the top fold of the site. NOTICE, this video is not too long, but very affective... I am confident that this video drastically increases conversions for the Blues site.

A Good Example of Using Videos on the Homepage.

Now after looking at the good, we must look at the ugly... Take a look at Guitarlessons.net, this site not only has a terrible website design (in my opinion) but will likely never convert on a sale.

Simply adding a video on your website will not only improve your users overall experience but it will also help your conversions. So, if you have already bought web hosting, I would suggest designing your page in a way that incorporates a video. If you have not already purchased web hosting, you can do so at AlreadyHosting.com.

I have struggled for a very long time to get my sites indexed (accepted) by DMOZ, the largest human-edited web site directory. Recently, after a VERY long time waiting to be accepted by DMOZ I finally had a site accepted. It took a lot of patients but finally succeeded..

Here are a few tips if you are having a similar problem:

1. Apply in a different category - each category of DMOZ is human edited, some of the individuals do a horrible job approving listing and some do quite well. If you cannot get accepted in your desired category all you need to do is find a similar category and try there.

2. Yahoo Directory is not a bad alternative.. Yes it cost quite a bit for a yearly listing; however, if you are working on your site's SEO and need a strong directory listing YAHOO is a quick way to get listed.

It's been a lot of fun reading the James Bennett's Practical Django Projects. Unfortunately, on Sept 3, the release of Django v1.0 has made many of the codes not compatible.

The new release of Django has given me a headache while I was trying to setup django-registration. The problem lies in the upgrading of Django to the latest build. The old Django codes cause a problem in setting the app. Thanks to the guys at the Django Channel that helped me out.

So I hope I can help by writing a tutorial for those who needs it. Stone Mind, once wrote a tutorial on django-registration, but it's out-dated now.

Here it goes:

Prerequisites:
django version 1.0
django-registration version 0.6 (if possible, use the trunk copy)

Step 1, unpack django-registration:
Put the app folder, registration into the project folder. (make sure that your PYTHONPATH is pointing to the project folder). registration folder is the folder that contains __init__.py.

Step 2, setup the application:
Add 'registration' into the list of INSTALLED_APPS. For example,

INSTALLED_APPS = (
    'django.contrib.auth',
    'django.contrib.contenttypes',
    'django.contrib.sessions',
    'django.contrib.sites',
    'django.contrib.admin',
    'registration',
)

Step 3, setup the database:
Run
python manage.py syncdb
to populate the tables from the list of applications. Ensure you have filled in the relevant database settings before you run it. Example for sqlite3 database settings,

DATABASE_ENGINE = 'sqlite3'
DATABASE_NAME = 'reg.db'
DATABASE_USER = ''
DATABASE_PASSWORD = ''
DATABASE_HOST = ''
DATABASE_PORT = ''

Step 4, setup the url pointer:
Add
(r'accounts/', include('registration.urls'))
into the list of URLpatterns. For example,

urlpatterns = patterns('',
    (r'^admin/(.*)', admin.site.root),
    (r'^accounts/', include('registration.urls')),
)

Step 5, setup the templates:
Setup the template path by adding /path/to/project/templates/ in TEMPLATE_DIRS. Example,

TEMPLATE_DIRS = (
   '/Users/mangoorange/Projects/Django/reg/templates/'
)

Step 6, inserting the templates:
This part is actually fairly simple. I have provided a copy of a working project, [download#74#nohits], that you can use. Just add in the django-registration app into the project folder. If you want to learn more about template form, you can check it out here.

Step 7, done:
Sorry to disappoint you. It's done.

Feel free to share any feedback and comments on the tutorial. Hope it helps.

I started working on Python start of the year and I learned a lot while I'm doing my internship in my current company, MooWee Inc. So it's logical for me to try to pick up Django as the web framework.

One of the hurdle I met and everyone else met is trying to install MySQL adapter for Python. Being the most popular database used, it is crucial to have it work rather than circumventing around the problem by using alternative database such as SQLite or PostgreSQL.

After a few hours of searching, I found a few references that somewhat not entirely complete. I did some cross referencing and found two brings me to the entire solutions, which I'm about to show below.

Step 0:
Before I start, I assumed that you have MySQL and Python installed on the mac.

Step 1:
Download the latest MySQL for Python adapter from SourceForge.

Step 2:
Extract your downloaded package by typing

$ tar xzvf MySQL-python-1.2.2.tar.gz

Step 3:
Inside the folder, clean the package by typing

$ sudo python setup.py clean

Step 4:
In the same folder, edit _mysql.c using your favourite text-editor

4a. Remove the following lines (37-39):

#ifndef uint
#define uint unsigned int
#endif

4b. Change the following:

uint port = MYSQL_PORT;
uint client_flag = 0;

to

unsigned int port = MYSQL_PORT;
unsigned int client_flag = 0;

Step 5:
Create a symbolic link under lib to point to a sub-directory called mysql. This is where it looks for during compilation.

$ sudo ln -s /usr/local/mysql/lib /usr/local/mysql/lib/mysql

Step 6:
Edit the setup_posix.py and change the following

mysql_config.path = "mysql_config"

to

mysql_config.path = "/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql_config"

Step 7:
In the same directory, rebuild your package (ignore the warnings that comes with it)

$ sudo python setup.py build

Step 8:
Install the package and you are done.

$ sudo python setup.py install

Step 9:
Test if it's working. It works if you can import MySQLdb.

$ python
>>> import MySQLdb

Voila.

Initially, I ask for support from Planex, the brand of my wireless router and they told me the only solution is to find out which channels are congested and avoid those channels. The person suggested NetStumbler, a tool to checkout your friendly wireless neighbourhood.

So I hung up the call and went to download it. After I installed, nothing works. No data shown. I called the support again. And, this time, he told me that Vista don't work with it. (Shucks!) Well, what's new. I asked the person is there any alternative and his replies is "Netstumbler is the best freeware you can get". Weird reply, I assume that's a no. I hung up again.

Guess what's next? Google! I google around, as always, and I found the simplest way to do it, without even installing a single software, thanks to Steve Clayton's blog. Here's how it works:

Just fire up your command prompt and type netsh. When the netsh> prompt show up, type:

wlan show networks mode=bssid

Now I'm able to see the invisible wireless neighbourhood and set it to the channel that nobody uses it.
