For years yahoo has owned and ran the largest free web hosting service on the web. Recently Yahoo announced that they will no longer be accepting new Geocities accounts and they have plans to completely close all of the sites by the end of the year.
Reports show that Yahoo will send out an email this summer to Geocities members that will attempt to get them to sign up for a paid version of hosting.
Attention Current Geocities Users:
Instead of rewarding Yahoo for closing your free web hosting account you should sign up for web hosting with a different web hosting company. We spoke with the owners of Bluehost and Hostmonster and they agreed to offer current geocities users a special rate on web hosting. Normally I try to avoid opinion pieces but I could not sit back and bite my tounge on this one. As you may have heard, today it was announced that the President and U.S. Government have "fired" the General Motors (GM) CEO.
I am not arguing that leadership change is a bad thing and yes it may ultimately help out GM; however, I have a major problem with our government interfearing with the private sector. This is the first time (in the history of the US) that the government has fired someone from a private industry and I am afraid that it is the start of a bad trend.
I am not going to get into too much details on what happened, if you want to learn more information I am sure there are plenty of articles out there.. I just say the the government stay out of private industry.

Yup, that's right. Paypal has officially introduce a new set of buttons. They says that "They’re (referring to the buttons) bold and colorful. Designed to catch the eye of customers – and increase sales". My opinion, they are ugly and difficult to read. Oh well, I prefer to stick with the old ones.
A picture is worth a thousand words. (click on the image for a full screenshot)

Still don't believe that it's true? Check out this link.

I'm featured in the Business Times. What an interesting day for me. I love the way the reporter wrote about my company, my team and I. Yup, Southeast Asian Bill Gates. That's what they wrote about me.
I've always wonder how do people like Bill Gates, Sergey Brin, Steve Jobs build their empire. Mathematically, it is impossible to earn that much of money given a constant high paying job throughout one person's entire lifetime. Finally, when I entered National University of Singapore, I get to learn about entrepreneurship from their courses, cca and peers. It's been an interesting path I took in my life. I made a lot of sacrifices to satisfy my hunger.
I would say, it's worth the time and effort. I'm on my way to my dreams now. Starting my own business, doing what I'm passionate about, sharing my experiences, facing new challenges everyday and working with a fun group of people towards a common goal. All these are priceless.
Just an advice, if you are sick and tired of your 9am to 5pm job, it's time to take a peek at starting your own business. No words can described the experience and the satisfaction you'll get out of it.
