Over the past months we have all had our eyes glued on the developments of Google Caffeine!  Since Google announced that Caffeine would be released we have had tons of unconfirmed reports that Google Caffeine is Live.  To this day there has been little evidence that caffeine is life; however, this has all changed.

One of my personal favorites is the VMOptions.com Web Directory. While doing some research on this directory, I came across something interesting, which I will get to a little later.

Unlike most web directories, VMOptions has a unique feature which separates it from other directories. They permit a unique description on the link detail pages. One would expect this to be costly, especially with the popularity of VMOptions, but there are no additional fees when using this feature. Such features should be more common then they are, especially with Google cracking down on duplicate content.

Many believe Google Sitelinks are an indication of authority, and to some degree this is accurate. But what I found interesting when re-validating VMOptions’ status, is that they actually have two different types of Google Sitelinks which appear for different search terms. Below you will find what appears to be three horizontal Google Sitelinks.

Oddly enough, a completely different set of Google Sitelinks appears while using a different search term. This group of Sitelinks now contains four distinct URLs.

In all, the VMOptions web directory had Google Sitelinks for three of my search queries. While this is still a solid and top performing web directory, the real gem was discovering how Google now appears to be customizing which Sitelinks are displayed for distinct search queries.

You don’t see an actual video, just the most recent still image captured by the Webcam. But this can come in handy when you want to actually see the traffic on a major highway yourself, or how the waves look like at the beach. While you are at it, you can also click on the other layers, such as Wikipedia Entries, photos YouTube Videos, and public transit.

This tool is free and allows me to quickly research keywords for SEO and PPC reasons.. Although there are many great keyword research tools out there, none can be as accurate as the one directly from the big G!

#4 - Google Webmaster Tools
From this page you can check on your website (backlinks, pagerank, errors, and much more)... You can also read up on Google tips and guides explaining how to build your website.. Basically if you own a website you must check out this tool!

#3 - Google Books
As a college student I am very appreciative of this free service by Google...  If your looking to read a book, magazine, or research LOOK HERE... Words cannot explain this service so check it out!

This is perhaps the most overlooked free Google Aplication but I could not live life without it!  With GMAIL you basically get unlimited space for free... Great!

There are other great applications out there as well. Webware 100 awards helps me to identify some applications I didn't know are worthwhile taking a look. Did you guys know all of them?
