If you have been wondering, "How do I start my own blog?"  We are going to completely answer that question in this easy as 1-2-3 guide to creating your own blog.

First, when you start your own blog you may find that their are many companies that claim to offer FREE blog hosting; however, you get what you pay for.  By signing up for a free blog you are ultimately allowing the site to place banners or text on your website.  This may not sound bad at first; however, I have heard of individuals who have signed up for a blog and then had adult ads placed on their site.  This extreme situation can not only looks bad on your site but it also can damage your personal reputation.

You can start your own blog for very cheap and you will never have to worry about ruining your credibility if you follow the following steps:

How Do I Start My Own Blog?

1. Sign up for professional web hosting at Hostmonster or Bluehost.  Both of these companies offer blog hosting services and only cost $3.95 a month.

----> Sign Up for HostMonster Web Hosting
----> Sign Up For BlueHost Web Hosting

2.  Log in to your new hosting account CPANEL and click on the, SimpleScripts button.  (Please note:  HostMonster and Bluehost are the only two sites to offer SimpleScripts within the CPANEL.

3.  Use simple scripts to install wordpress.  This is as easy as 1-2-3!

4.  After installing wordpress you can use the current blog theme or you can upload any custom wordpress theme that you may find on the web.  We offer a very popular free wordpress theme called the i3theme.

Blog Web Hosting

Guess What? Thats it, follow these simple steps and you will be the owner of your very own blog.  Using this guide you will no longer have to wonder how to create my own blog.

Hello All -- I would first like to introduce myself as the owner of one of the largest web hosting review affiliate sites, AlreadyHosting.com.  Today I wanted to write a quick blog post outlining 10 useful tips for affiliate marketers looking for success.

#1 - Only Promote Useful & Credible Products: It takes months and possibly years to gain credibility for your site; however, it only takes one day to lose it all if you promote a poor product.

#2 - Do NOT pick a product to promote solely on the commission offered: Our top 10 hosting list is not based on commission; in fact, we would lose money if we had our top paying affiliate in the #1 spot... We base our rankings on the QUALITY for the site, quality sites convert better ultimately resulting in more sales = more money in your pocket.

#3 - Grow a relationship with Affiliate Managers: Building a great relationship with affiliate manager will not only help you keep up-to-date with the latest news and promotions but it can also put big bucks in your pocket.  Affiliate markets also want to have a good relationship with you (Affiliates)... You will find that the better of a relationship you have with the company the more tools they will give you.

#4 - It takes time, be patient: Getting your first sale can take a lot of work and time, but be patient, over time with a little work, your site will continue to grow more successfully.

#5 - Content is King: Try to add new content to your site on a daily basis.  The more content that you have indexed in search engines to more money you will make.. Also be sure to take full advantage inner linking to build your site's pagerank.

#6 - Ask, Ask, Ask: Many companies will offer affiliates promotional links, coupon codes, or even a higher commission; however, the key is that you have to ask.  Don't be afraid to ask for these things, the worse thing that can happen is that they say "no".

#7 - Share Information With Others: I do not consider other related sites as competitors but instead as friends.. I have shared a lot of information with other related sites, in exchange, they have shared with me a lot of valuable information.

#8 - Offer Solutions To Questions: If you want to sell more products you need to write more content directed towards answering others questions.  Those who will buy your products typically have a minimum knowledge in your niche.. Think about the questions that a newbie in your field would ask, and then answer those questions on your website.

#9 - Pick Familiar Niches: When try to decide which products to promote, I would suggest only choosing products or topics that you are familiar with.  To be successful you MUST have credibility and it is hard to have credibility in a niche that you are unfamiliar with.

#10 - Build Your Brand: As previously mentioned, credibility is everything.  One of the best ways to gain credibility is to build brand awareness.  Do everything you can to get your website name & logo distributed across the web.

It appears that many people (including myself) are encountering the following error message after updating to the latest wordpress 2.8.x version: “Call to undefined method Redirection::_weak_escape() in /home/username/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 487″ .

Even though this may be an agrivation there is an easy fix to the problem and you will NOT lose your website files..  To solve the issue follow these simple steps:

  • Log into your host manager account or take help of your FTP.
  • Go to wp-content/plugin folder of your WordPress installation.
  • Locate redirection folder and rename it to something like redirection2
  • You should be able to login now into your admin panel of WordPress.
  • Go to plugin page and upgrade redirection plugin

** I hope this fix helps you, feel free to add any additional information that you think may be helpful to others.

Google Pages also known as Google web hosting is no longer taking any more sign-ups according to the official Google Pages web site.   Don't Panic... There are actually many great alternatives to Google web hosting.

**Why would web hosting through Google be a bad thing?**

I will be the first to admin that Google rocks and pretty much dominates the entire web when it comes to FREE services; however, FREE is not always good when it comes to hosting.  When you are looking for a web host for you business, corporation, church, blog, or personal site you should ALWAYS look for a host that will give you a free personalized domain name.  With the old Google web hosting platform you couldn't receive a customized domain name and you were limited to how much disk space and bandwidth you could have.

If you goal is to truly run a professional business you need to consider other alternatives to Google web hosting.  For under $4 a month you can choose a company that specilizes and excels in web hosting.  The professional web hosts listed below not only will give you a free domain name but they also will give you unlimited server resources (not offered by Google web hosting).

So as I mentioned, its true that Google rocks but (at this time) you are still smart going with an independant web hosting provider if you are looking to get your website online fast.    I would suggest any of the following web hosts:

HostMonster - $3.95/month
BlueHost - $3.95/month
GreenGeeks - $6.95/month
