I read this article earlier today and I found it very interesting.. It proves just how advanced the developers at Apple really are.. I would really hate to be in the same market as Apple :)

HELSINKI — Nokia opened its online software and content store Tuesday, hoping to follow the success of Apple Inc's App Store, but the opening was overshadowed by technical glitches and negative reviews.

Apple's store has proved extremely popular, with one billion applications downloaded in less than a year, and operators and technology firms including Vodafone, Microsoft Corp and Nokia now want a piece of the pie.

Nokia, the world's largest handset maker, said its Ovi Store was opened globally to some 50 million phone users, putting it in front of any other rival store. Apple has sold only around 20 million iPhones.

Nokia said on Tuesday in most markets around the world consumers have to log on to an Internet page on their cellphone browser to access Ovi Store — something analysts said was bound to limit takeup significantly.

"The more steps you ask customers to go through, the more opportunities there are for them to step aside," said Forrester analyst Charles Golvin.

Neil Mawston from Strategy Analytics said Nokia's small market share in the United States was also set to limit takeup of the store. Nokia controls barely 10% of the U.S. phone market, while its global market share is above 35%.

To balance that Nokia hoped to offer U.S. clients the opportunity to charge applications on their phone bills from opening the store, something it expects to boost traffic. But it said on Tuesday this would be delayed until later in 2009.

Nokia said clients in eight countries can pay for purchases through their phone bills, and AT&T was planning to make the store available in the United States later in 2009.

The store is open globally through the Internet, and applications can be bought with credit cards.

Nokia said the store had technical problems Tuesday, and on numerous occasions it was impossible to access it.

"Shortly after launching .... we began experiencing extraordinarily high spikes of traffic that resulted in some performance issues," Nokia said in a statement.

Most first reviews of the service were negative, and a popular technology blog TechCrunch called the store "a complete disaster."

John Strand, chief executive of Strand Consult, said the launch was a big failure.

"This launch today exposed Nokia as a dinosaur," Strand said.

"They knew they would be benchmarked against Apple. They had all the time, all the resources, and then they came out with something like this. They are not fulfilling expectations. And what happened to the dinosaurs?"

One very affective way to market your blog, business, or online website is to purchase customized t-shirts.  On multiple occasions I have purchased shirts for my sites, political campaigns, and also for my church.   When searching for quality custom t-shirts sites you will likely find many sites who advertise to be the best t-shirt site and most of the time you will be disappointed with their results.

I recently ran across a site that allows you to make customer t-shirts, hats, bags, fits and much more.. Upon research I grew more and more impressed with the site.. Not only does their site design give them a unique image in the t-shirt industry but they also do great work.  Not only that but they can also help you with t-shirt design ideas.

Just a little random note.. I do a lot of business golf trips and this site is known to provide excellent customized golf t-shirts so I might just purchase one with MangoOrange.com on it, haha :)   Anyways be sure to check out www.CustomT-Shirts.com.

There are quite a few premium web directories out there and before submitting to them it is always nice to do a little research. One of my personal favorites is the VMOptions.com Web Directory. While doing some research on this directory, I came across something interesting, which I will get to a little later.

Unlike most web directories, VMOptions has a unique feature which separates it from other directories. They permit a unique description on the link detail pages. One would expect this to be costly, especially with the popularity of VMOptions, but there are no additional fees when using this feature. Such features should be more common then they are, especially with Google cracking down on duplicate content.

Many believe Google Sitelinks are an indication of authority, and to some degree this is accurate. But what I found interesting when re-validating VMOptions’ status, is that they actually have two different types of Google Sitelinks which appear for different search terms. Below you will find what appears to be three horizontal Google Sitelinks.

1

Oddly enough, a completely different set of Google Sitelinks appears while using a different search term. This group of Sitelinks now contains four distinct URLs.

2

In all, the VMOptions web directory had Google Sitelinks for three of my search queries. While this is still a solid and top performing web directory, the real gem was discovering how Google now appears to be customizing which Sitelinks are displayed for distinct search queries.
